Return Policy

Every Love the Lake item is printed just for you when you order it. Because of that, we can’t accept returns or exchanges for size, color, or a change of heart. If something arrives damaged, defective, or wrong, though, we’ll make it right.

The short version

  1. Damaged, defective, or not what you ordered? Report it within 30 days of delivery with photos, and we’ll send a free reprint or a refund. No need to send anything back.
  2. Ordered the wrong size or color, or changed your mind? We’re not able to exchange or refund it. Please check our size guide before ordering.
  3. Need to cancel? Email us right away at hello@lovethelake.org. We’ll do our best to catch it before it’s printed.

Canceling or changing an order

Email hello@lovethelake.org as soon as possible with your order number and what you’d like to change. If your order hasn’t gone into production yet, we’ll try to cancel it for you. Once printing has started, we can’t cancel or change it.

Damaged, defective, or incorrect items

If your order has a problem we caused, you can choose a free reprint or a refund. This covers items that:

  • Arrived damaged or stained
  • Have a printing or embroidery defect
  • Are a different item, design, size, or color than what you ordered

Report the issue within 30 days of delivery using the form below, and include photos of the problem. You don’t need to send the item back.

What isn’t covered

We can’t offer a free reprint or refund when:

  • You received exactly what you ordered but would prefer a different size or color
  • The garment measures within 1 inch of our size guide
  • The design sits within ½ inch of its standard placement
  • The shipping address entered at checkout was incorrect or incomplete (see “Packages returned to us” below)

What’s normal for our products

Some characteristics come naturally from how each item is made. They aren’t defects.

Printed items

  • A faint smell when the garment is new
  • A light residue on the fabric, most noticeable on light colors

Both go away after the first wash. To keep your print looking its best, wash cold, inside out, and tumble dry on low.

Embroidered items

  • Small differences in stitch texture or density from one item to the next
  • A visible backing on the inside of the garment behind the embroidery
  • Very fine details, small text, or color fades simplified so they can be stitched cleanly

Late or lost packages

If your order hasn’t arrived 30 days after you placed it, please let us know within the following 7 days. That window lets us open a claim with the carrier while there’s still time to track it down.

Before you reach out:

  1. Double-check the shipping address in your order confirmation email.
  2. Check with your local post office, since packages are sometimes held for pickup.

If you still can’t find it, submit the form below and choose “Package lost or not delivered.” We’ll investigate and email you with your options, which may include a free reprint.

Packages returned to us

If a package can’t be delivered because the address was incorrect or incomplete, it may be sent back to our print partner. When that happens, we can reship the same item to a corrected address. Shipping for the second delivery is your responsibility.

To reship, email hello@lovethelake.org with your order number and the corrected address.

If a package is delivered to an incorrect address you provided and isn’t returned to us, we’re unable to replace or refund it.

How refunds work

Refunds cover the item price, not the original shipping cost. Once your refund is approved, we’ll issue it to your original payment method within 5–7 business days. Your bank may take a few more days to show it on your statement.

Report an issue with your order

Fill out the form below and we’ll reply by email as quickly as we can. Photos are required so we can review the issue.
